Introduction of the Faculty
The main research field is the research and development of innovative diagnosis and treatment methods for irreversible blinding eye diseases such as fundus diseases and hereditary eye diseases and their basic and translational application research and development. The clinical mentor has been engaged in ophthalmology for 30 years, and is proficient in the diagnosis and treatment of common vitreoretinal diseases, such as diabetic retinopathy, vascular disease, vitreous hemorrhage, macular disease, and retinal detachment. The basic tutor has been studying abroad for more than ten years and has been long dedicated to research on the molecular mechanism and translational application of blinding eye diseases. The mentor team has presided over 7 programs of the National Natural Science Foundation and more than ten provincial and ministerial-level programs, published a series of ophthalmology-related SCI papers, authorized a number of patents, etc., fully reflecting the integration of basic research and clinical applications.

Dr. Gao Ling is the doctoral supervisor, the communication reviewer of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, editorial board member of the Chinese Journal of Ophthalmology, member of the Immunology Group of the Chinese Ophthalmological Society, and director of the Fundus Disease Clinical Center of the Eye Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University. Inherited from famous teachers, she is proficient at diagnosis and treatment of difficult and miscellaneous diseases of the eye. She is bold in innovation, and took the lead in the detection of pathogenic microorganisms, diagnostic vitrectomy and vitreous cytology for refractory uveitis, which has significantly improved the diagnosis and treatment rate. She has excellent mastery at a variety of fundus imaging Comprehensive analysis and is proficient in vitrectomy and retinal reattachment surgery. She has cooperated with the National Clinical Medical Center for Metabolic Diseases to carry out a multidisciplinary outpatient clinic for diabetes, and has unique experience in early image recognition of diabetic retinopathy, drug and comprehensive treatment of macular edema, and vitreous surgery for advanced patients. She has presided over three projects of the National Natural Science Foundation, and published more than ten papers in well-known SCI journals such as retina by the corresponding author.

Dr. Chi Zailong is the doctoral supervisor, Qianjiang Scholar Distinguished Professor, State Key Laboratory of Optometry and Vision Science PI, Wenzhou Distinguished Expert. He is also the deputy director of the Basic Research and Clinical Translation Professional Committee of the Ophthalmologist Branch of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association, a life member of the American Vision and Ophthalmology Research Association, and a specialist member of the Chinese Medical Association Ophthalmology Society. Doctor of Japanese Ophthalmology, JSPS Fellow of Japan Society for the Promotion of Science, Investigator of National Tokyo Medical Center, and Research Fellow of Harvard Medical School. He has been studying and working overseas for more than ten years and has been engaged in basic and translational research on major irreversible blinding eye diseases. During the period abroad, he has presided over number research programs, and won awards from ARVO, ISER, JOS and other international ophthalmological societies. In the past 5 years, the team has presided over 10 provincial and ministerial projects, including the National Natural Science Foundation, and applied for 11 national invention patents, 4 of which have been authorized. The team has published a series of SCI papers in the fields of eye disease genetics and new drug research and development. Dr. Chi is also been selected into the first level of the provincial 151 talent, the first level of the municipal 551 talent project, and the 580 overseas elite introduction plan.
